Bio

Diana is an avid researcher of local family history, especially in south central Indiana. After spending a number of years in the classroom, she has now turned her attention to educating the local community about their ancestors. My goal is to educate, mentor, and teach others about the vast array of genealogical resources available in print and on the internet.

Program Topics include:

  • Getting started in Genealogy
  • Using Internet Resources to find your ancestors
  • Does your house have a history?
  • Finding ancestors in Court Documents, Probates, Guardianships, etc.
  • Finding your ancestors with the aid of land grants, deeds, and 1890 Tax Records.

  • Early History of Brown County, Indiana (Prior to 1850)
  • Early History of Jackson Township, Brown County, Indiana (Prior to 1850)
  • Early History of Bean Blossom, Indiana (Did you know it was called Georgetown?)
  • The Day John Dillinger Came to Bean Blossom, IN ... Ok, well, not really, but John James (Jake) Jenkins did! and he shot my grandpa! -A study between historical facts and oral history.
