One of her favorite quotes comes from Alice and Wonderland, by Lewis E. Carroll.
"But I dont want to go among mad people, said Alice. Oh, you cant help that, said the cat. Were all mad here."
This two time high school president loves anything that adds a bit of positivity into our lives, such as friendship, smiles and family. A lot of her friends define her inspirational and she laughs every time they say that.
One day she decided to paint a mural to support her son's baseball team. It went so well, she decided to paint another one even bigger.
It's about the length of five or six cars, she says. The newspaper and mayor called right away to report. She also tries to live by the idea:
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. Dalai Lama.
~ Her Story. She writes ~
My name is Julie. My friends call me Jules. I was born in Southern California, lived there until I was 30. Then I moved to Europe.
Everyone has a story. Heres mine. One day I was sitting at my office at my desk working for big corporation, with a nice boss, apartment by the beach in California, when I prayed for courage to change my life for the better.
My dear boss and I were talking and she offered me a raise. In a moment of clarity, I answered,
No, thank you. Im going to move to Europe.
So I did. Within two months I sublet my rent control apartment, sold my car, found a decent owner for my sweet cat, and bought a one way ticket.
It would be nice to say I never looked back. Of course, I did. I left all of my family, my friends and everything I knew.
However, I needed to grow as a person. So I took a risk and it paid off.
I have since married a great man who is a super nice guy. We have bought a house and have two boys whom we adore.

By the way, she often talks about motivation and inspiration. She does this because they are her favorite two subjects although she admits to know absolutely nothing about them. One of her most inspirational stories was when she was in high school on swim team. Her sister was her greatest motivator. She'd cheer 'Go Julie' as she swam down the lanes.
Her sister advised her to swim away from the shark or towards the chocolate cake. They now both agree to swim away from the chocolate cake.
The point is, we all have different motivators in our lives. She was lucky at a young age to have had a great support system.
Julie has also currently won five competitions and awards for her art that is available for sale on her blog julieangelos.com. Her mother, Elaine Roark, is a famous scupturer whose work can be seen at AMOCA, American Museum of Modern Art in East Los Angeles. Ms. Angelos' work has been compared to Matisse, Picasso and Modigliani.
