Mike Robbins is an expert in teamwork, communication, and the power of appreciation. He delivers keynotes, seminars, and coaching programs that empower people and organizations to be more successful. Mike is also a regular contributor to Oprah.com, the Huffington Post, and CNN.com.
Prior to his speaking and coaching career, Mike was drafted by the New York Yankees out of high school, but turned them down and chose to play baseball at Stanford University where he pitched in the College World Series.
After college, Mike was drafted by the Kansas City Royals. He played three seasons of professional baseball with the Royals before arm injuries ended his playing career.
After his athletic career was cut short by injuries, Mike worked in sales and business development for two Internet start-up companies, before starting his own consulting firm in 2001.
As a Certified Speaking Professional, Mike has worked with some of America's top organizations and institutions such as AT&T, Apple, UC Berkeley, the U.S. Department of Labor, New York Life, Stanford University, Chevron, and many others.
He's the author of two bestselling books, Focus on the Good Stuff: The Power of Appreciation and his most recent, Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken. Mike has been featured on the Oprah radio network, Montel Across America, ABC News, Forbes, and on over 150 radio and TV shows around the country. Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken was also featured in O Magazine and Fast Company to name a few.
In 2009 Mike delivered just over 100 programs and worked with some wonderful clients, like: Google, Wells Fargo, Nationwide Insurance, Kaiser Permanente, PG&E, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Stanford University, the American Business Women?s Association, Chevron, Genentech, the University of Nebraska, the City of San Jose, the International Facility Managers Association, and many others.
He graduated from Stanford with a B.A. in American Studies and a specialization in race and ethnicity. He, his wife Michelle, and their two daughters, Samantha and Annarose, live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
