0_zr-8k58qtrht8biyv4apkflbrqdrglcycx60kfpqftjhjzvomjguobfeojsftn_tq4ryx8tjenhk Mike delivered an engaging and thought provoking presentation on the “Apple-ization of retail.” While Mike is a great communicator he also clearly has a strong mastery of business strategy and emerging consumer trends. Through discussing the paradigm shits that Apple executed in its brand and retail program – Mike challenged everyone to dramatically different thinking. Mike clearly demonstrated the importance, value and potential impact of challenging established business “norms” to deliver outstanding consumer/customer experiences. I would highly recommend Mike and the Apple-ization of Retail” to any business team that needs to challenge and redefine the “experiences” they deliver.

0_-owaaz_4rlbgd33jkmdjab8ect3yffkjkjxlabtzhbzmr_bgy4ugxcznjpttuhla1jwror09z9n7 Mike has a very pleasant, to the point, and easy to follow presentation style. His analysis, conclusions, and suggestions were excellent. He did a fantastic job of helping the audience understand what he means by the Apple-ization of Retail, his perspective on customer experience and its impact on a company's bottom line. The overall presentation layout was dynamic and engaging, and most definitely added value to his presentation. One of the best I've seen in a long time.

I also saw a talk that came after his. I know it was after because he referred to Mike's presentation in the past tense. His was also interesting but not nearly as well presented. I got the distinct impression that Mike's was so polished that he was intimidated by it so was more nervous than he might have been had he gone first.

Jenny_new-icon_size_normal I enjoyed the practical focus of Mike's speech. It wasn't pie in the sky theory, but information that I could use in my own business. Mike got me thinking about things differently.

0_tlygpltjmtlj16c_kaxmp--1j-zxphn_rkegp-_i6c37uktiobmlttcdcyv8rfb7pty_1vlmew22 Mike has a unique ability to inspire both full time customer experience professionals and those with an interest in customer experience. To be able to appeal to audiences on both sides of the Atlatntic is not a simple thing, however, Mike's relaxed but expertly informed style makes him a pleasure to listen to. Having heard him speak at the last two ECEW conferences, Mike's insight has helped me with the direction of customer experience strategy in my organisation. If Mike is on the agenda at a conference near you, take the time to go and see him - you will not be dissapointed.

Tim_normal Mike presented "How a Better Customer Experience Can Help You Earn - and Keep - More Business" to a group of approximately 80 C-level executives. He was asked by the Forum to speak because of his well-known, solid reputation. He knows how to gain the trust of his audience- with an intelligent and fun approach. Mike quickly captured our attention and provided real-life, immediately-adaptable ideas and techniques. And…they work.

Picture?type=square Mike gave our DeverTech Inc. team great insights into how our customers experience new products and services. We were the classic example of the Confucius quote “He who knows not… he knows not!” Mike got us to stop and think about the reality of how people in the real world perceive and use products and services vs. how we the designers and programmers assumed people would use the products. One of the things that became obvious as soon as we started doing some usability testing—is the extent to which people use things all the time without understanding how they work, or with completely wrong-headed ideas about how they work. Mike pointed out that people don’t always make optimal choices. They satisfice. Yes, satisficing is a word. It is a decision-making strategy that attempts to meet criteria for adequacy, rather than to identify an optimal solution. Thanks to Mike, we now better understand that faced with any sort of complex product or technology, very few people take the time to read instructions. Instead, they forge ahead and muddle through, making up their own vaguely plausible stories about what they are doing and why it works.
Working on a recent project we engaged Mike to speak to our team and it was game changing.

Thumb Mike "gets it" and truly understands his audience. He is thorough and researches his audience in great detail so every presentation he gives is completely custom-tailored and engaging to those in attendance. Every time I've seen Mike speak, I always leave feeling like I've actually learned valuable information that I can apply to my own business practices. In a nutshell, Mike is by far one of the most passionate, engaging and dynamic presenters I've encountered.

Thumb Mike has a way of quickly capturing an audience's curiosity and attention. He takes the time to get to know his audience and tailors his presentations around their specific needs. Beyond the presentation, Mike engages audience members in a hands-on workshop where they not only learn new ideas but gain the ability to put these ideas to work in their own business. I have been fortunate to hear Mike speak at several professional events, and each time I learn new things that I have put to work in my business. I highly recommend Mike for anyone desiring to know more about how to improve the customer experience.

Thumb Mike has a great way of getting you to think non-traditionally, non-linearly, to really make you examine the topic and/or question before you. His way of presenting invites you to go that extra layer deep into what you *think* you already know and find new rich ores of thought to mine. Mike 'causes' new insight and creativity -- leading to real innovation and examination. It pays to really listen and consider when he presents. Mike is always engaging, entertaining and prepared. He never disappoints.
