Tim Houston
Author & The Networking Authority

For nearly four years I have been waking up Wednesday's at 6 a.m. to attend my 7a.m. BNI Chapter meeting. Each week we have a speaker presenting from our chapter for approximately 10 minutes about their chosen profession. Every few weeks our Regional Director Tim Houston gives a ten minute or longer presentation on networking properly (it's really so much more than just networking properly). I don't believe I have ever heard him speak about the same topic twice.
He is always presenting educational, fact-based, and motivational lessons that every member admits has only made them better at being a presenter themselves and therefore more confidant and successful. Tim's enthusiasm and yes enunciation of key points helps remind you that there are crucial techniques to being an effective speaker and as importantly when to be an even better listener while engaging with a prospective client. Important to mention is that he cites examples from his own experiences that so many can relate to. It really draws you in to a "hey that's happened to me too" experience. Sometimes I will hear his advive as "the little voice in the back of my mind" as I approach someone I have never met and believe I may be able to eventually do business with. It all starts somewhere and in many ways Tim gives you that confidence to take the first and most important step forward, stand tall, and speak with a smile in your voice.
Tim's "refusing to participate in a recession", motivational speeches and now a best selling author, wow, and not just writing about any rehashed networking topic either. The Worlds Worst Networker explains common pitfalls and will help even the most seasoned speaker. You will need to purchase the book (shameless plug) as I have to understand... or I could go on for a real long time writing.
Funny that others are now paying to learn what Tim has taught me over the years, I feel very fortunate and look forward to his further teachings.

I recently attended Get Connected 2011, a networking conference in Houston, Texas, where Tim Houston was one of the featured speakers. His topic on how to become "Productive, Profitable & Prosperous" was an amazing presentation. His energy on stage keeps his audience on the edge of their seats while he delivers a powerful message....he really "connects" with his audience. I highly recommend Tim as a speaker for your next conference.

Tim has developed a new section for the business library, the "How Not To" section, right next to the "How To" section, by his research, it can honestly be said, "No one knows more about how NOT to network, than Tim Houston", that said, Tim is an incredible networker, one of the best alive, and is also a master at teaching that very valuable skill.
I've seen Tim speak at over 50 events in New York
